Overview

Banking and Financial Services (BFS) deals with the basic concepts of banking and financial services industry and its applications in the global banking environment.

In the era of Industry 4.0, there is a growing need for well-trained professionals in the areas of banking and financial services 

To cater to this growing need, the Faculty of Management and Commerce at M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences offers M.B.A. in Banking and Financial services with an emphasis on qualitative approach, standards and practices to deal with practical issues in banking and financial sectors.

Students are equipped with analytical abilities and practical knowledge in corporate banking. 

Programme Aim : This programme aims to develop management professionals with specialized skills and applied competencies in theoretical and practical knowledge of Banking and Financial services catering to the contemporary needs of industry and academia. 

The Programme covers: contemporary trends in banking business, structure and operations of Indian Financial system, competency in understanding laws and regulations, roles of commercial, government and central banks in controlling money markets and inflation, risk mitigation in financial sectors and their role in investment decisions of individuals and business enterprises, Statistical methods and tools for modeling and analysis of risk in banking and design of financial instruments to suit investment profiles.

Coursework includes study of basic business functions of Management followed by specialisation courses in BFS, Treasury Management (banking law and practices), Managing Banks and Financial Institutions (Financial Markets), Corporate Banking, Startups and Trade Finance, International Finance, Risk Management and Derivatives and Investment Management and Financial Services.

Admissions

Eligibility

  • Indian Nationals

    • Candidates must have pass in BE, MCom, MSc., BBA, BBM, MA, BCom, BSc, BA, or equivalent grades from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
    • SC/ST candidates can apply with a lower qualifying mark as per the Government notification

  1. Students seeking admission are required to appear and qualify the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in Bangalore (PGCET Code: B348)
  2. Once selected, students need to fill in the admission form
  3. Pay the tuition fee
  4. Submit documents to the University

Eligibility
