Overview
Financial Management deals with aspects related to asset selection, financing and profit sharing. As firms expand globally, they are subject to risks from the global economic environment. There is a constant pressure to increase shareholder value while minimising exposure to global economic risks.
In the era of Industry 4.0, it is imperative to impart advanced financial skills to students of Finance, to be able to manage the finances of organisations in the growing Indian economy . There is an increasing demand for Finance professionals in India, across industries.
With the above in view, the Faculty of Management and Commerce at M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) offers post-graduate degree programme in M.B.A. (Financial Management).
The aim of the programme is to create professional management graduates who can devise financial strategies, plan, optimise and control resources to achieve the stated business goals.
The programme endeavours to offer students a fulfilling experience in terms of understanding the manner in which different financial decisions impact firm shareholder value. The programme also enables student to gain knowledge, understand concepts, analyse and apply frameworks in Finance.
The M.B.A. (Financial Management) Programme covers: critical review of principles of financial management, study of the role of financial markets and intermediaries, framework for students to grasp finance concepts quantitatively, concepts in marketing of financial products and services, interpretation of financial transactions, statements and taxation, creating and motivating finance management teams, valuation concepts in the context of maximizing firm value, implementing risk-return tradeoff in finance, aspects of risk and optimize financial decisions for the risk-return tradeoff, teamwork, lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
Coursework includes basic business functions followed by study of managing banks and Financial Institutions, Valuation of firms, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, Managing Banks and Financial Institutions (Financial Markets), Mergers Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring, International Finance, Behavioral Finance and Taxation.

Admissions
Eligibility
Indian Nationals
- Candidates must have pass in BE, MCom, MSc., BBA, BBM, MA, BCom, BSc, BA, or equivalent grades from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- SC/ST candidates can apply with a lower qualifying mark as per the Government notification
Application Process
Through PGCET
- Students seeking admission are required to appear and qualify the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in Bangalore (PGCET Code: B348)
- Once selected, students need to fill in the admission form
- Pay the tuition fee
- Submit documents to the University

Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed in equivalent and eligibility equivalence from AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
- Candidates should have proof of proficiency in English with a minimum TOEFL score of 8.
Note: Up to 15% of seats are reserved for Foreign/NRI Students.
